  • DESCRIPTION This Aero Precision Stripped Lower Special Edition: Franklin Snake lower receiver features Benjamin Franklin's political cartoon "Join, or Die" engraved on the magwell. This design was created in 1754 to represent the need for unification among the Thirteen Colonies later becoming an iconic symbol leading up to and during the American Revolution. The cartoon was used to encourage Colonists to stand together as it was pivotal to the success of the Revolutionary War. This design remains symbolic of American pride, perseverance, and unification nearly 250 years later. The M4E1 Lower Receiver delivers billet aesthetics in a forged package. This custom designed enhanced forging is machined from 7075-T6 Aluminum and compatible with all mil-spec AR15 parts. Aside from the visual upgrades this custom engineered design provides that challenge much more expensive billet options, we have added several functional features to the lower receiver to simplify the assembly process for the at home builder. M4E1 Lower Receiver Improvements: Threaded Bolt Catch Roll Pin - Allows for simple installation of the bolt catch and virtually eliminates the chance to damage the finish during installation (pin included). 1/16" Hex Key required for assembly. Integrated Trigger Guard - Eliminates the possibility of breaking the trigger guard tabs by integrating the trigger guard into the lower, creating a stronger more rigid platform to build upon. Upper Tension Screw - Allows users to fine tune the fit of the upper and lower receiver using a nylon tipped tensioning set screw inserted in the grip tang of the lower receiver. This provides a tight fit with any standard AR15 upper receiver. Threaded Takedown Pin Detent Recess - Allows user to easily install the Takedown Pin detent and spring with the use of a 4-40 set screw (no more launching detents across the room). Increased Magwell Flare - Increased the flare of the magwell to aid in quick and efficient magazine changes.   • DESCRIPTION The Aero Precision AR15 5.56 PRO Series BCG Black Nitride is built from the ground up to meet the demands of the most extreme conditions. Each component and manufacturing process of the PRO 5.56 Bolt Carrier Group was deliberately chosen to increase the reliable service life of the bolt carrier group and its components. Bolt The bolt is one of the most important parts of the bolt carrier group. Machined from 9310 steel, a proprietary flash nitride process was chosen to ensure proper heat treatment on the bolt. When properly heat treated, 9310 steel provides superior strength and durability when compared to C158. The cam pin channel is counter bored, eliminating the need for swaging. Swaging is the industry standard, however this process creates more stress on the bolt during manufacturing by displacing material rather than cutting it to the proper dimension from the start. Machined from 9310 steel Shot peened MPI tested Proper heat treatment ensured via proprietary flash-nitriding process Cam Pin Each PRO cam pin is precision ground after heat treatment to exacting specifications and given a nitride finish. The cam pin features an engraved indexing mark on one side of the cam pin face; a concept that has been popularized by Chad Albrecht at School of the American Rifle. Cam pins traditionally wear more heavily on one side and when installed inconsistently can create excessive wear over time. When the cam pin becomes “loose” this can create excessive wear on the bolt itself shortening overall life. The indexing mark allows for consistent installation during maintenance which in turn reduces wear on not only the cam pin but the bolt over time to help extend overall service life.     The new Aero Taper Lock Attachment System (ATLAS) is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. It features 2 mirrored tapered locking nuts that provide evenly distributed clamping pressure across a custom engineered barrel nut with use of a turnbuckle screw. A ratcheting detent further secures the design while providing positive registration during installation. By design, the even pressure of the ATLAS system avoids distortion of the handguard often seen with current applications during installation.

    All hardware mounting parts are included with the purchase of an ATLAS Handguard.
